Mommy to RN in 1, 2, 3....

Yes the three days I spent working were stressful! I cried on the way to work everyday and I looked terrible once arriving at the hospital. When I got home, my little one was already half asleep, but I did get to complete the nighttime routine. I got the low down from Abuelita (Grand mom)as to how the day went...naps, bottles, playtime and yes the lack of poop...the boy did not poop for two days straight, and for my LO this is unusual as he usually packs a punch once or twice each day. When he woke up on Friday guess what was waiting for me? Yes the biggest poop I have ever seen! What do you think he is trying to tell me? "Mom...this work thing is a load of SHIT!" Anyway I am back working and that is the way it is...I don't like it and neither does he!

Baby Blues...jeans that is!

Baby clothes really piss me off. Why do they make these itty bitty little clothes look like adult clothes? They are uncomfortable and scratchy! And why do baby socks have tred on the bottom, it doesn't make sense. Do I really need to put a onsie under every garment, it seems like over kill with buttons, especially in the middle of the night, when we wake up in the morning, as in today at 5:00 am, the kid looks like a 5 year old tried to button him up, with buttons all miss matched and crooked.... Velcro seems like a much more user friendly material for the first time mommers. I don't know something tells me baby clothes should be comfy, soft and for God sake easy to assemble at 2:00 am. There are times when i can't help myself and the kids cuteness is so enhanced by the gear that I loose control, dress him, take a picture and then put him in something a bit more practical.

Fears

I am returning to work on Tuesday and i am afraid! I have only been a nurse for 10 months and three of those I was out on maternity leave! I am afraid of a routine schedule again, afraid I have forgotten my IV skills and such and most of all afraid my son will NOT miss me!

I'm Back!

Wow...its been a long time since I have written. Many things have changed since my last post.

1) Graduated nursing school
2) Got a J O B in the special care/burn unit of a pediatric hospital
3) Had a freak'n baby!

Its amazing how life can change so drastically in such a short time.

I am one of those people who has changed careers midway and I am so glad I did, but little did I know I would be changing again, becoming a mother! I love being a mom and I know that motherhood suits me; although it took me a while to realize this. The beginning was bit bumpy, the first week I was home with Sebastian I was saying to myself, "what did you do, your life was so simple"...simple being the key word, nothing is simple about a baby, babies are extreme! The funny thing is that the simple things he does everyday gives me the most extreme happiness...curling up his butt when waking from a nap, smiling in his sleep, yawning, even his little whines make my heart explode. I have been off for three months now and I am returning to work on Tuesday and its all I can do to keep from crying every time I am reminded of that!
