The badder the better!

Why is it the worst behaved kiddo always ends up being your favorite. I know teachers should be like parents and not have a favorite kid, but I do! This seems to be the phenomenen that strikes every teacher at one point in thier carreer. Maybe its the joy of the challange...the thought of a job well done or could it be deeper than that, could it be that teachers need a kick in the pants every once in while from a kid that just doesn't stand for statu quo...here's to you...the little snot nosed bratty kid that always seems to do the wrong thing at the right time...you make us better teachers, if we can deal with you then we can deal with anyone!

Autism....?

A co-worker and myself asked a mom the other day, "What is Autism to you?" She replied, "My entire life!"

This mom struggled through watching her young son disapear before her eyes. A seemingly "normal" child one day begins to turn inward and loose touch with those around him. Now his clothes are painful, his words are gone and he no longer looks at his mom's face.

Where did he go?

I wish I could tell her...
